In late summer and early autumn, the Tianjin Ziya Economic and Technological Development Zone High-Tech Industrial Park in Jinghai district, Tianjin, welcomed some unusual visitors — egrets, wild ducks, and grey waterbirds gathering across its water areas.
They circled over the open water behind the Guotai Ruifeng Jiangsu-Zhejiang Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park and swam leisurely along the banks near Bafang Electric and Oppein Home.
Waterbirds are selective about their habitats, requiring clean water, green shores, and quiet surroundings. Their choice is instinctive. Interestingly, businesses evaluate a location in much the same way, looking for strong infrastructure, ample space, and growth potential. In their own ways, both birds and enterprises have chosen the same place.
The Guotai Ruifeng project, covering 145 mu (9.67 hectares), plans over 30 modern factory buildings. Its first phase of nine buildings has been completed and occupied by seven quality projects; the second phase broke ground in September 2025 and is expected to be delivered by late January 2027.
As the industrial hub of Jinghai district, the park hosts over 500 companies involved in bicycles and e-bikes, high-end equipment, pharmaceuticals, the pet economy, and the low-altitude economy, with giants like Aima, Giant, and BATTLE operating alongside many specialized small and medium-sized enterprises.
Beyond industrial upgrading, the park has pursued ecological measures: energy-saving guidance, water system connectivity, ecological embankments, and layered vegetation — resulting in clearer water, greener shores, and the arrival of both birds and investors.
