In autumn, the pear orchards in Luogezhuang village in Tianjin's Jinghai district, welcomed another harvest.

To address the challenges of a short shelf life and limited sales channels, the village cooperated with Shanhaiguan Soda, a long-established local brand, to turn high-quality pears into pear-flavored soda. The initiative has opened up new markets for local produce and supported rural vitalization.

The village has a long pear-growing history, and its pears are known for their thick, juicy and sweet flesh. However, sales previously relied on on-site picking and small traders, limiting income growth.

The village committee partnered with Tianjin Shanhaiguan Beverage to develop a new model that combines local agricultural produce with deep processing by a time-honored brand.

Leveraging the company's production technology and brand channels, Luogezhuang's pears are now used exclusively as the raw material for pear-flavored soda. Processing the seasonal fruit into a standardized drink has extended its shelf life, expanded its consumer base and market reach, and increased its added value, overcoming traditional limitations related to seasonality, geography, and preservation.

The cooperation aims to extend the pear industry value chain, leverage the company’s brand recognition and market reach, and increase villagers' incomes. Moving forward, the village will further explore local advantages and explore new ways to integrate production and sales.
