The Tianjin Health Industry International Cooperation Demonstration Zone (hereafter referred to as the "Demonstration Zone") is located in the eastern part of Jinghai District. It is an important industrial, transportation, and ecological node that connects the two national-level new areas of Xiong'an and Binhai. The Demonstration Zone has a planned area of 38.55 square kilometers, with a focus on the development of four characteristic industries: education, healthcare, elderly care, and sports. It aims to build a unique highland for the aggregation of the health industry and to construct a national-level internationalized demonstration zone for the health industry.
The Demonstration Zone has lot of education resources, such as the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Medical University, and Tianjin Sports University, which have already settled in the area, providing strong educational and scientific research capabilities.
The Demonstration Zone is rich in medical resources. The construction of the Tianjin base of the core innovation system of China's medical science and technology has landed in the Demonstration Zone. The Peking Union Medical College Hospital Tianjin Branch will be delivered in June 2023, which is of great significance in improving the medical level of not only the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region but the nation as a whole.
The elderly care model is innovative. The Kangning Jin Park is the first large-scale comprehensive retirement project in China. Its "new model of integrating medical care and elderly care, deepening the comprehensive reform pilot of the elderly care service industry" has been commended by the State Council.
The sports resources are complete. There are 23 professional venues, including the Tuanbo Sports Center, the Tuanbo Football Pitch and the International Tennis Center, which can host various sporting events. The Demonstration Zone has successively hosted major international and domestic events such as the East Asian Games, the 13th National Games, and the WTA Tianjin Open.
The infrastructure is gradually improving, with Tuanbo Avenue fully opened to traffic, the Jinjing suburban railway scheduled to start trial operation in 2024, and the improvement and upgrading of the main and secondary roads in the area progressing smoothly, further improving the internal and external transportation system.
