Jinghai Golden Thread Jujube is a variety of jujube that can be eaten fresh or dried. The fruit is oval-shaped and weighs an average of 7g per fruit. In 2004, the State Forestry Administration announced the results of the third batch of evaluations for China's most excellent economic forest areas. Jinghai County in Tianjin was named "China's Golden Thread Jujube Village" with an absolute advantage.
In 2008, the planting area of jujube trees in Jinghai County was over 200,000 mu (13,333 hectares), with an annual output of over 45 million kilograms and a value of nearly 200 million yuan. More than 20 households of farmers who rely on jujube cultivation for income can earn over 100,000 yuan per year. Jujube cultivation has become one of the important channels for farmers to become wealthy and increase their income.
