Jinghai promotes integrated development of cultural tourism

In recent years, Jinghai has been promoting the integration of culture and tourism to facilitate local development.

From the bustling May Day holiday to the 8-day National Day holiday this year, Jinghai’s unique tourism experience has left deep impression to the visitors nationwide. Six major thematic cultural tourism activities demonstrating the deep integration of local intangible cultural heritage and tourism were promoted in the region during the holiday. As a result, the number of orders for trips to the region continued to increase. A total of 845,800 tourists visited Jinghai, generating tourism revenue of 128 million yuan (about $17.55 million). Compared to the same period in 2019, the number of visitors to A-level scenic spots in the district increased by 8.9%, and operating revenue increased by 16.7%.

Additionally, taking the Grand Canal as the axis, Jinghai has gathered cultural relics and historical sites along the canal. By continuously enhancing the excavation of its cultural and tourism resources, Jinghai’s efforts have increased experiential and interactive consumption projects, promoted the transformation of traditional scenic spots from sightseeing to a holistic tourism mode, and built a brand of cultural and tourism integration with rich cultural connotations.

At the same time, relying on the unique natural and cultural wellness resources of Tuanbo Lake and surrounding areas, Jinghai has striven to develop a health and wellness tourism industry, developing a distinctive integrated cultural and tourism complex that combines hot springs, pastoral landscapes, a high-quality ecological environment, medical care, and elderly care services.

Over the years, Jinghai has explored and integrated its abundant cultural and tourism resources, promoted the upgrading of scenic spots, created more attractive tourism products and promotional platforms, and expanded the influence of Jinghai's cultural and tourism brand. The cultural and tourism industry has already become a new growth engine driving Jinghai's high-quality development.
