Jinghai in Tianjin, an attractive investment destination for leading industries

Tianjin's Jinghai district holds a press conference on its industrial achievements.

Government officials in Tianjin have promoted the Jinghai district of the city at a news conference aiming at "leveraging Jinghai's industrial advantages to accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces projects".

According to an official of Jinghai, since the beginning of this year, the district has signed contracts for 240 industrial projects, with "strategic emerging" projects accounting for 35.8 percent of the total.

Among the newly signed projects with a total investment of over 100 million yuan ($13.8 million), 69 percent of them are in leading industries.

The district has attracted a number of high-quality projects with broad development prospects and significant growth potential, including the Zhongguancun (Tianjin) Medical Industry Innovation Base project, the Aima Electric Bicycle Parts Manufacturing project, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Medical Equipment R&D and Operation project.

During the news conference, a "Jinghai Brand" exhibition area was set up, featuring nearly 20 high-tech products from the district in fields such as biomedicine, the circular economy, light industry and eye-catching bicycles.

According to a staff member of the Jinghai High-tech Industrial Park, bicycles and electric bicycles are one of the local pillar industries. The branded bicycles accounts for 25 percent of the national market share, and the export volume has been ranked first in China for a number of years.

Going forward, Jinghai will further lead with technological innovation to promote the upgrading of advantageous industries, the expansion of emerging industries, and the cultivation of future industries, so as to attract more investment from high-quality enterprises and more professional talents, and commercialize more scientific and technological achievements to meet market demands.
