Tuanbo Health City, which is located in Tianjin's Jinghai district, has recently been included in the Tiankai Park.
It has a total area of 10.9 square kilometers, including the Science and Innovation Corridor adjacent to Xiqing district as well as the universities, institutions and living facilities areas.
There are university schools in the area: Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Medical University, Peking Union Medical College Tianjin Campus, Tianjin University of Sport and Tianjin Vocational College of Sport.
There are also three national key laboratories: the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Medical Materials and Medical Devices, the National Key Laboratory of Blood and Health and the National Key Laboratory of Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine Formulation.
Three national-level platforms, including the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Blood System Diseases, the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture, and the National Medical Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as a number of provincial and ministerial-level platforms have also settled in the area.
Leveraging the aforementioned research advantages, the region will focus on developing the medical and health industry and sports rehabilitation industry. It will promote the research and development of biopharmaceuticals such as cell therapy drugs, modern traditional Chinese medicine and medical device manufacturing, as well as the development of high-end medical consulting and services such as internet hospitals and sports rehabilitation.
Furthermore, taking advantage of the ecological living area near Tuanbo Lake in the region, efforts will be made to expand silver-haired economy formats such as resort living and health preservation.
