Activities are underway in Chengguantun town, Tianjin's Jinghai district, transforming it into a friendlier place.
Volunteers recently visited an elderly care service station in Jinghai, where they chatted with residents, made handicrafts, and assisted with daily care. The service station organizes activities every day to foster a greater sense of belonging among residents, with its occupancy rate now standing at nearly 90 percent.
In addition to the care station, the town has introduced elderly dining halls and has arranged regular meal deliveries, with volunteers delivering to elderly people living alone every afternoon.
A small community sotre has become quite popular, with its shelves stocked full of daily essentials like rice, flour, cooking oil, laundry detergent, toilet paper, and towels. Villagers can earn points by volunteering or participating in community activities, which they can then redeem for everyday items.
A small courtyard houses the village's well-known art gallery. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by the smell of ink, various stone inscriptions, historical materials, and walls adorned with the calligraphy of local farmers.
Throughout Tianjin, activities aimed at creating a more civilized environment are seen as a vital part of rural vitalization. These actions aim to improve local customs, enrich farmers' spiritual lives, and preserve the region's rich cultural heritage.
