Jinghai district's foreign trade has achieved strong growth despite a volatile international market. From January to October, the district's import and export volume reached 16.95 billion yuan ($2.40 billion), up 13.7 percent year-on-year.
Both the trade volume and growth rate ranked sixth and fifth, respectively. This performance reflects the competitiveness of Jinghai manufacturing and the support of targeted policies and services.
The steady development of enterprises relies on combined policy and service support. The Jinghai district bureau of commerce carries out weekly visits to enterprises, using on-site inspections and online consultations to learn about company needs.
To address common financing challenges, the bureau collaborates with the Tianjin branch of the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, bringing 350 foreign trade companies under export credit insurance coverage, including 270 small and micro enterprises on the municipal guarantee platform.
Jinghai's foreign trade has formed a diversified growth pattern. High-strength steel wire is exported worldwide, photovoltaic modules contribute to Belt and Road projects, bicycle components serve global markets, and precision instruments support international clients. From traditional sectors to emerging industries, the Jinghai brand is gaining influence globally, fueling high-quality regional trade development.
Looking ahead, the district bureau of commerce plans to consolidate exports of key products, including machinery, steel, and agricultural goods, and strengthen the foundation of foreign trade. Efforts will also focus on expanding markets along the Belt and Road and within RCEP countries, while promoting high-value transformation of characteristic industries such as bicycles and musical instruments.
