Jinghai district has launched an art education initiative designed to introduce traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy into schools.
The program's opening ceremony was held at Tianjin Jinghai District No 2 Middle School, organized by the district’s culture, tourism, and education authorities, along with the local painting and calligraphy academy.
During the event, officials outlined preparatory work and presented appointment letters to expert instructors from the academy.
The program aims to integrate professional art resources into school curricula through joint teaching, appreciation of esteemed works, expert lectures, and outdoor sketching. It connects closely with middle school textbooks to help students thoroughly understand traditional art, enhance their aesthetic judgment, and boost creative skills.
Artists from the district academy created works on-site and donated them to the school. The program represents an important step toward making quality art education more accessible in Jinghai, offering youth a platform to engage with traditional culture and aesthetics.
The school plans to expand the activities offered to include art festivals, meetings with artists, study trips, and exhibitions, fostering a campus environment enriched by ink art.
