Vodar (Tianjin), a company based in Ziya Economic and Technological Development Area in Tianjin's Jinghai district, has reported a strong first-quarter performance.
Its export volume of smart irrigation equipment surged over 50 percent year-on-year, reaching nearly half of last year's total in just the first three months.
The company's center-pivot sprinkler systems have gained global recognition due to continuous innovation. A notable achievement is its corner arm technology, which addresses the long-standing issue of uncovered areas in traditional systems.
Vodar's localization strategy — a "one-country, one-policy" approach — has also been crucial. This includes developing large-scale machines for markets like Russia and Central Asia, and prioritizing smart, remote-controlled features in regions with high labor costs.
Vodar's international growth has been supported by the China-SCO Green Industry Cooperation Platform, launched in Ziya Economic and Technological Development Area last year following the SCO Tianjin Summit. The platform helps build trust with international partners and streamlined cooperation.
Looking ahead, Vodar is shifting from equipment manufacturing to becoming a full-service provider, with a strategic focus on market expansion in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa.
