A group of participants at the Tianjin 2026 Global Business Leaders Roundtable visited Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on March 26 to experience the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
The visit highlighted the Haihe Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicine, a 10,000-square-meter facility dedicated to advancing TCM through research into development models, formulation technologies, manufacturing techniques, and clinical evidence evaluation.
University officials showcased the lab's innovations in TCM intelligent equipment and AI technologies. A digital display of China's premium TCM resources captivated the visitors, who discussed potential industrial collaborations while learning more about Tianjin's TCM advances.
Mikhail, director of International Development at Urachem Group Russia, praised the lab's high-tech capabilities and expressed a desire to collaborate in the pharmaceutical field.
An Italian business executive commended the university's development, noting her long-standing interest in TCM's individualized treatment approach.
The tour concluded at the Acupuncture and Tuina College, where ancient techniques meet modern technology. Students use advanced systems for safe needle placement, while AR platforms enhance teaching.
A participant from a Kazakh infrastructure company expressed newfound interest in TCM, appreciating its holistic approach to health and wellness.
