The Industry Innovation Conference of China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Platform for Green Industry Cooperation was held in Shanghai on April 13, announcing the cooperation zone's establishment in Ziya Economic Development Area in Jinghai district, Tianjin.
The conference was aimed at serving China's opening-up strategy and implementing key outcomes of the SCO Tianjin Summit.
Leveraging Ziya Economic Development Area's 30-year foundation in the circular economy, the zone aims to build a high-level platform for green industrial cooperation under the SCO framework.
During the event, experts and business representatives from China and abroad shared insights on solid waste management, low-carbon recycling, and new circular economy models.
Ziya authorities presented the area's planning, industrial layout, policy advantages, logistics hubs, and cross-border cooperation channels, focusing on an integrated service system combining green technology, standards, digital tools, and finance.
A signing ceremony was held in three groups. Ziya Economic Development Area signed strategic agreements with several enterprises. A number of quality projects in new energy, new materials, recycled resources, and cross-border services will be based in the cooperation zone.
The conference further connected Jinghai with global resources and SCO markets, expanding the international influence of Jinghai's green industries. Jinghai district will continue lending its full support to building the cooperation zone into a leading benchmark for green industrial development.
